Ross Kennedy & Alex Sweet Reveal About Mentoring Programme
The Project started with a trip up to Glasgow to meet our mentors and have a tor of the Citizens Theatre. We arrived to be greeted by the wonderful Karen Bryce, who turned out to be out mentor.
After a quick discussion, we began the tour of a real-life, working theatre. We saw lots of people working hard as the National Theatre of Scotland were in preparing for a show.
Finally, we had another chat with Karen and began to get an idea about what "A Christmas Carol" is all about.
For the next month, we were in email contact with Karen. She gave us tasks to do and we reported back via email. The tasks included, check lighting stock, find out how the light are wired and laid out, and sourcing a scaffold tower and other bits and pieces.
Eventually the 27th of October arrived and Karen was in school and ready to roll.
We started by clearing the sage and sorting bits and pieces out. Karen then started us on the lighting design, and allocating lights to channels.
Last week, technical gear started to arrive and will continue to arrive from now on. The gear included lights, dimmers, a sound system and today some steel deck arrived.
With lost of gear coming in from here there and everywhere, it's all go and things are beginning to take shape. We are really looking forward to bringing everything together and putting on a fantastic show.
